Requirements for obtaining a BLUE CARD in Poland as a foreigner:
Hold a higher education degree or have at least 5 years of professional experience
Earn a gross salary equal to or higher than 150% of the average salary in Poland
Have a contract with a Polish employer for a minimum duration of 1 year
Possess health insurance
Have a registered residence in Poland.
Demonstrate proficiency in the Polish language.
A BLUE CARD is not issued in Poland if:
The applicant does not meet the required qualifications or work experience criteria.
For a foreigner with secondary vocational education
The salary offered by the employer is below the minimum threshold
The applicant does not have a valid employment contract with a Polish employer
Benefits of the Blue Card in Poland:
Free access to the labor market after 2 years of Blue Card employment (Allows job changes at a lower cost compared to a regular card)
No need to change your card or notify the agency every time (unlike a regular card)
Simplified family reunification and residence permits for all family members
After 18 months of work, the right to move to another country within the European Union.
After 5 years of residing in the European Union on the basis of the blue card, you can apply for a permanent residence permit.
It is possible to stay in the country without employment for up to 3 months
Family members can obtain residence cards with access to the labor market (residence permit for family members can be applied for even without their presence in Poland).
The period for obtaining the BLUE CARD: 1-2 months, but in particularly complex cases, the process may take up to 6 months.
The maximum period for which the BLUE CARD is issued is 3 years.
Recommendation: The card is granted based on the dates specified in the employment contract. It is advisable to sign an employment contract for a duration of three years or an indefinite period, as in such cases, the card will be issued for a longer duration.
A negative response regarding the issuance of a BLUE CARD in Poland may occur if a foreigner:
Resides in Poland illegally
Provides inaccurate information in the application
Has their personal information included in the list of undesirable foreigners
The foreigner’s employer has received warnings or has violated the employment or labor rights of foreigners
